TRAINING OUR PUPPIES

FROM BIRTH TO GOING HOME

We want to make sure you are completely satisfied by your choice of pet. All of our animals come fully registered and vet certified. They undergo a wellness exam, have all the required vaccinations, and come with a personal medical record.

We chose to use a 'new to us' program with all of our litters this year. We want the best outcome for all our puppies and families.

PUPPY BIRTHDAY

When our puppies are born, we enrich their world by touching and handling them after just being a few days old. Each puppy is given a different colored collar to help identify it's milestones and behaviors much easier.

2 WEEKS OLD

When the puppies are 1-2 weeks old, they will begin being handled by children. Their eyes start to open and they learn their surroundings. We will also begin introducing different sounds.

3-4 WEEKS

The puppies begin moving a lot more at this stage and they love to play. We will introduce them to new toys, play yards, and other surroundings. The puppies will also get to play in an open crate, to ensure that the crate be a happy place for them.

4-6 WEEKS

The puppies will begin the weaning process by being introduced to soft puppy mush with added probiotics and gradually having time away from their mom. The crate is still being played in at this point, with an occasional door shut, but not latched.

TRAINING: Available Pets

6-8 WEEKS

At 6 weeks, the puppies will begin the crate training process with the door latched for a very short period of time. The puppies will get their 1st round of shots and de-wormer, as well as being checked out by a veterinarian. This process will help ensure a better transition when they reach their new adoptive homes.

8 WEEKS

Generally, the puppies are ready to go to their new adoptive homes at this point, unless otherwise specified by the breeder. They are ready for their new name, home, bed, collar, and loveable companion.
