OUR FAMILY

Hello, my name is Michelle. Along with help from my husband and our 3 young children, Skyler, Conner, and Oliver, I own and operate Barnyard Mini Aussies.

I am originally from Springfield, Missouri, then moved to Fair Grove in 2002, where I graduated HS from in 2005. I met Matthew in 2009 at Missouri State University. Matthew graduated with Animal science degree in 2010. I graduated with an animal science degree 2011 and an elementary teaching certificate in 2013. We got married in 2011. We had our daughter, Skyler and 15.5 months later, we had our second child, Conner. I began teaching kindergarten in 2015, then moved to teaching 1st grade for the next 5 years. During this time we had our 3rd kiddo, Oliver. I have recently decided to stay home with my youngest and teach him during his preschool year.

We live on my husband's 4 generation family farm. As a whole family, we primarily raise cattle and background their calves. We also have a hobby of chickens, sheep, and horses. Growing up, we both raised or have lived with Border Collies. My father-in-law still keeps Border Collies around for our working farm help. This passion quickly drew my attention to the Australian Shepherd, which then turned toward the Mini Aussie. I love how easily trained they can be, their high energy level, and their eagerness to please, wrapped in a smaller package.

Agriculture and animal husbandry is near and dear to our hearts. We love sharing this with our children and raising them to learn how to take care of animals.
